In-service Training Teachers of third and
fourth classes or those who have not previously used the Follow Me
programme are invited to an in-service day. This will be held subject
to the usual conditions:
a) Prior approval being granted by the teacher’s board of management
(NB the BOM will have to bear the cost of the provision of a substitute
teacher for the day).
b) That boards of management would make every effort to make suitable
arrangements for the teaching of the pupils of the absent teacher.
Where it proves impossible to obtain an appropriate substitute, that
appropriate notice would be given to parents of children who would
be remaining home on that day.
c) That one-teacher schools would be allowed to close under Rule
60.
