Attention Primary Teachers!

To coincide with the publication of Moving On and the completion of the first four books in the Follow Me series, the Church of Ireland Board of Education are running two competitions for pupils in schools using the programme. Closing date for all entries is 16 May 2003.
With each entry include child's name, class, teacher's name, school name and address. All prize winners' work will be displayed on this web site. Entries are to be sent to: Follow Me Competitions c/o The Rectory Carrigaline Road Douglas Cork

Competition A -  Design a bookmark

For pupils currently in Infants, 1st or 2nd class (P1-4)

We intend to publish a bookmark to advertise this website www.followme-series.org.  The winning entry will be used as a basis for a design that will be distributed to all schools using the Follow Me programme.

The design on the bookmark is to be in one colour only and must include the web address: www.followme-series.org

The bookmark is to be not more than 21cm long and 10cm wide.  Remember that bookmarks have two sides.

Prizes (Competition A):

The bookmark will be used as a basis for the published bookmark.

The best entry from each of Junior Infants, Senior Infants, First Class and Second Class will be chosen and from these four section winners a best overall will be selected.

A book token of €40 will be awarded to the overall winner and the three other section winners will receive book tokens of €20.

Competition B - Compose a prayer

For pupils currently in either 1st or 2nd class. (P3 or P4)

This prayer may be used in the 3rd class book to be produced in May 2004 and will be published on the web site.

The prayer is to be original work, no more than 40 words in length and should be on the theme "Following Jesus".

Prizes (Competition B):

The prayer will be published on the web site and may be used in the 3rd class textbook.

A best entry from each of First Class and Second Class will be selected and a book token of €50 awarded to the best overall. The runner up will receive a book token of €30.

Highly commended prizes will be awarded at the judges discretion.
